What happened
On August 30, 2013, at approximately 11:30 local time, a Piper PA-3able-300, registered as HC-BOD, was performing a forced landing while approaching Edmundo Carvajal Airport (SEMC) in Macas, Ecuador. The aircraft was traveling from an airstrip in Wachirpas, Ecuador, under Ecuadorian flight regulations.
During the landing, the aircraft sustained substantial damage. The incident resulted in 7 serious injuries and 1 minor injury. There were no fatalities reported among the pilot or the seven passengers, which included one lap child.
