Incident Details
On August 17, 2013, at 17:28 LMT, a privately owned Cessna 182T operated by Dantex sp. z o.o. S.K. completed a private flight from Jastarnia (EPJA) to Warszawa-Babice (EPBC). The fairing then rotated, causing damage to the second attachment and the fairing itself, and severing the brake line. No other aircraft damage was reported.
Cause
The most probable cause of the incident was operation of the aircraft from airports with uneven surfaces. A contributing circumstance could have been the failure to detect deterioration of the wheel fairing attachment condition during the preflight inspection.
