Accident Sequence
The accident occurred during landing. The pilot lost control, causing the airplane to veer off the left side of the runway. Upon leaving the runway surface, the airplane nosed over and came to rest upside down.
Damage Assessment
The inverted position resulted in substantial damage. Specifically, the wing struts and spar, the fuselage, and the vertical stabilizer and rudder sustained substantial damage.
Post-Accident Examination
Inspectors from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) examined the airplane at the accident site. Their inspection revealed no anomalies with the airplane's systems or structure. In a conversation with the pilot, the pilot stated that he had lost control of the airplane.
