Incident Overview
The pilot of an airplane reported that after landing and executing a left turn onto a taxiway, the engine decelerated. In response, he increased power to sustain the left turn but experienced very little braking action from the left brake. The pilot stated that he believed during this sequence he may have placed the heel of his left foot over the right rudder pedal, which prevented the intended left turn from being successful.
Wing Contact
As a result of the loss of directional control, the right wing of the pilot's airplane struck the right wing of a parked airplane that was facing the opposite direction. The impact caused substantial damage to the right wing of the pilot's aircraft.
Postaccident Examination
A postaccident examination of the airplane's left brake system was conducted. No evidence of mechanical malfunctions or failures that would have precluded normal operation was found.
