Accident Details
On July 6, 2015, at approximately 1312 UTC, a Quest Kodiak 100 aircraft, bearing U.S. registration N642RM, sustained substantial damage when it collided with terrain during a forced landing. The incident occurred following a loss of engine power after takeoff from Pskov Airport in Pskov, Russia. The flight was destined for Ryazan, Russia.
Occupants and Injuries
The aircraft was occupied by a Russian certificated pilot and one passenger. Neither occupant was injured.
Sequence of Events
According to investigators, the airplane experienced a total loss of engine power immediately after takeoff. The pilot performed a forced landing approximately 500 meters beyond the departure end of the runway. During the forced landing, the nose landing gear and right main landing gear separated from the airframe. The wings, fuselage, and tail sections sustained substantial damage.
