Accident Overview
On October 6, 2015, at 2355 coordinated universal time (UTC), a Bell 430 helicopter, Mexican registration XC-VER, collided with terrain shortly after departing from El Lencero Airport in Xalapa, Mexico. A postimpact fire ensued, destroying the helicopter. The pilot and co-pilot sustained fatal injuries.

The helicopter departed El Lencero Airport at 2353 UTC and was en route to Veracruz International Airport in Veracruz, Mexico. The accident occurred two minutes after takeoff.
