Incident Overview
On January 22, 2016, at approximately 0845 hours UTC, an Enstrom model 280C helicopter, bearing Swiss registration HB-XLS, incurred damage to its tail rotor control system. The event occurred before the helicopter lifted off from Buttwil Airfield (LSZU) in Buttwil, Switzerland. The local flight was in the process of preparing for departure at the time.
Pilot Status
The pilot of the helicopter was not injured.
