Accident
On April 17, 2016, at 1940 UTC, an Extra EA300, registration N13DK, impacted terrain at Cozumel International Airport (MMCZ) in Cozumel, Mexico. The aircraft was destroyed. The pilot, the sole occupant, sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The Dirección General Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) Guatemala has jurisdiction and control over the investigation. Under Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, the United States, as State of Design, designated an accredited representative to participate in the investigation.
