Accident Overview
A pilot reported that during landing with flaps set at fifty percent in gusting wind conditions, the airplane was too fast as she approached the runway and she aborted the landing. During the second approach with flaps in the same configuration, she touched down normally. However, after applying the brakes during the landing roll, she could not stop the airplane before it exited the departure end of the runway. The airplane then crossed a highway and collided with an embankment, resulting in substantial damage to the fuselage.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no mechanical malfunctions or anomalies with any portion of the airplane that would have prevented normal flight operations.
