Accident
On June 17, 2016, at approximately 1515 local time, a Cirrus SR20 aircraft bearing Republic of Korea registration HL1210 was destroyed following a loss of control while on approach to Muan International Airport in the Republic of Korea. The aircraft was operated by the pilot. The three occupants—a flight instructor, a student pilot, and a passenger—sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board (ARAIB) of the Republic of Korea is conducting the investigation into the accident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane, the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention on Civil Aviation to assist the ARAIB in their investigation.
