History of Flight
The student pilot of a tricycle landing gear-equipped airplane reported executing a normal approach to an asphalt runway. During touchdown on the main landing gear, the airplane bounced. When the airplane settled back to the runway after the bounce, the nose gear contacted the ground with significant force.
After the landing, the student pilot taxied the airplane to the ramp as directed by the control tower and shut down the engine. The pilot reported no mechanical malfunctions or anomalies during the flight that would have prevented normal operations.
Damage
A post-flight examination conducted by the flight school revealed substantial damage to the airplane's firewall.
