What happened
On March 28, 2017, a Grumman American AA, registration N9613L, was involved in a runway excursion in Flushing, Michigan. During the landing phase, the pilot was traveling at an excessive speed, causing the aircraft to overshoot the runway and collide with trees.
The aircraft sustained substantial damage to both wings. The pilot reported no injuries following the event. Weather conditions at the time were Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) with a visibility of 10 statute miles and winds from 360 degrees at 11 knots.
