Accident Report
The pilot of a tailwheel-equipped airplane reported that while turning right from the runway onto the taxiway, he exited the runway at an excessive speed, causing the airplane to ground loop to the right. After the ground loop, the pilot taxied the airplane to the ramp without further incident.
Aircraft Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage as a result of the ground loop.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. No other anomalies were noted.
Weather Conditions
A review of recorded data from the automated weather observation station at the airport indicated that around the time of the accident, the wind was from 050° at 7 knots. The airplane had landed on runway 21L.
