Incident Overview
On May 25, 2017, at 0625 Universal Coordinated Time, a Sikorsky S76 helicopter registered as VT-CMM was substantially damaged when it struck powerlines and impacted the ground. The occurrence took place near the Nilana Helipad in Nilanga, Maharashtra, India.
Occupants and Injuries
The helicopter was carrying two pilots and four passengers. All six occupants were not injured.
Damage and Operation
The helicopter sustained substantial damage. At the time of the accident, the aircraft was being operated under the pertinent regulations of the Government of India.
