Accident Details
A pilot reported that during the landing roll of a tailwheel-equipped airplane, the aircraft began to drift to the right. In an attempt to correct the deviation, the pilot applied left rudder input. Despite this corrective action, the airplane departed the runway surface to the right and subsequently executed a ground loop to the right.
Damage
The left wing and left elevator of the airplane made contact with terrain, sustaining substantial damage. No other damage or injuries were reported.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. The aircraft was operating as expected prior to the incident.
