Accident Details
According to the pilot of the tailwheel-equipped airplane, directional control was lost during the takeoff roll. The airplane veered to the left "abruptly," departed the runway surface, and subsequently struck a vertical approach slope indicator (VASI) light. Following the impact, the right main landing gear collapsed, causing the airplane to nose over.
