Incident Details
On April 29, 2018, an incident involving a Boeing 737 occurred, prompting notification from the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) of Indonesia to the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The NTSC is the Indonesian agency responsible for transportation safety investigations.
International Response
The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist in the investigation. This action is taken in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13, which provides guidelines for aircraft accident and incident investigations. As the State of Manufacturer and Design for the Boeing 737, the United States is entitled to participate in the investigation led by Indonesia.
