Landing Incident
The pilot of a tailwheel-equipped airplane reported that during the landing roll, the airplane veered to the right. He applied left rudder in an attempt to correct the deviation, but the airplane continued to the right. It subsequently exited the runway and collided with a ditch.
Pilot Remarks
The pilot stated that he believed he had become too relaxed and was "not on his game" at the time of the landing. He did not submit the NTSB Form 6120.1 Pilot/Operator Aircraft Accident/Incident Report.
Aircraft Damage
The fuselage of the airplane sustained substantial damage as a result of the impact with the ditch.
Mechanical Status
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions that would have precluded normal operation.
