Accident Overview
On September 3, 2018, at approximately 1005 UTC, a Robin DR400 airplane, registered as F-GSBK, suffered a loss of engine power during cruise flight near Benodet, France. The three occupants on board were not injured, but the aircraft was destroyed.
Investigation
The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the French government, conducted by the Bureau d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses (BEA) pour la sécurité de l'aviation civile. In accordance with ICAO Annex 13, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) appointed an accredited representative to assist the BEA investigation, as the United States is the state of manufacturer of the airframe and engine.
