What happened
On September 15, 2019, a Boeing 777-200ER, registration AP-BGK, was operating approximately 5 miles northwest of Lahore, Pakistan. During the flight, the pilot issued a Mayday call to report a fire in the right-hand engine. The crew requested permission to return to Lahore airport.
The aircraft landed safely at the airport. There were no injuries reported following the event. Subsequent reports indicated that the damage was limited to the engine starter.
