Casualties unknown • EPIN, PL

A Cessna 152 experienced the separation of both main landing gear wheels during the landing roll at the Kujawy Aero Club airfield.

What happened

On October 19, 2019, at approximately 10:53 local time, a Cessna 152, registration SP-KSO, was performing a landing at the Aeroklub Kujawski airfield in Inowrocław (EPIN). The aircraft was occupied by two individuals: a pilot in command holding a PPL(A) license and a passenger who is a flight instructor.

During the landing roll, the right main landing gear wheel detached from the aircraft. Following this initial loss of a wheel, the aircraft entered a turn. During this maneuver, the left main landing gear wheel also became detached. The aircraft subsequently came to a stop.

As a result of the landing gear failure, the aircraft sustained structural damage, specifically deformation to the left wing and damage to the fuselage skin in the empennage area. There were no injuries to the pilot or the passenger.
