Accident Overview
On September 22, 2024, a Robinson R44 II helicopter, registration SP-CBW, was involved in an accident near the ZULU navigation point of Warsaw-Babice Airport (EPBC). The Polish State Commission for Aircraft Accident Investigation (PKBWL) is investigating the event under case number 2024/0096.
Investigation Status
On October 1, 2024, PKBWL notified the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the European Union (EU), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the occurrence. The PKBWL investigation team has conducted tests and examinations on the helicopter's technical and operational documentation, engine and airframe technical issues, crew-related aspects, and the post-landing evacuation.
Preliminary Findings
At the current stage of preparing the draft final report, the PKBWL has not formulated any safety recommendations. The investigation team is in the process of compiling the final report, which will include detailed information on the causes and circumstances of the accident.
