What happened
On December 28, 2025, at approximately 09:35 EST, a Beech B90, registration N40BA, was involved in an accident near Atlanta, Georgia. The aircraft, operated by Lux Air, was performing a positioning flight under Part 91 regulations from Miami Executive Airport (TMB) to DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK).
Prior to departure, the pilot had requested the aircraft be fueled, and FBO personnel reported 152 gallons of fuel were loaded. During the preflight inspection, the pilot noted the fuel gauges indicated full. The flight proceeded under instrument flight rules, climbing to 11,000 feet MSL in clear en route weather.
As the aircraft approached PDK, the pilot initially requested a diversion to Dobbins ARB Airport (MGE) due to low cloud ceilings. After air traffic control reported improved weather at PDK, the crew requested vectors for an ILS runway 21L approach. While configuring the aircraft for landing by extending the flaps and landing gear near the final approach fix, the pilot reported a total loss of engine power on both engines and the illumination of all cockpit warning lights.
The pilot executed a shallow right turn to avoid houses and performed a forced landing into a wooded area within a residential neighborhood. The aircraft impacted trees and terrain approximately 2.4 nautical miles northeast of the approach end of runway 21L. The impact resulted in substantial damage to the fuselage, wings, and empennage.
Injuries
The accident resulted in one serious injury and one minor injury.
