Incident Overview
Approximately two minutes after departing from Novosibirsk-Tolmachevo Airport's runway 07, the aircraft was climbing at night, reaching an altitude of 200 meters, when it entered clouds. At that point, the crew notified air traffic control of a fire aboard the aircraft. The captain received clearance to return for an emergency landing, but control was lost 24 seconds later.
Descent and Impact
The airplane adopted a nose-down attitude and struck the ground at an impact speed of 335 km/h. The crash site was an open field located three kilometers from the airport. The aircraft disintegrated upon impact, with debris scattered over a distance of 552 meters.
Occupants and Cargo
All six individuals on board were killed. The aircraft was transporting prefabricated goods with a total weight of 11,278 kilograms.
Investigation Findings
The official investigation determined that a fire broke out in the cargo compartment during the takeoff procedure. However, investigators were unable to establish the exact origin of the fire.
