What happened
During a scheduled agricultural mission for the "Dobrynski" state farm, an aircraft was conducting crop-spraying operations when it encountered a low-altitude obstacle. While attempting to maneuver over a telephone line, the aircraft experienced a stall. The subsequent impact occurred in a field located approximately 12.5 km southwest of Verkhnyaya Dobrinka, within the Kamyshin district of the Volgograd region.
Following the crash, the wreckage ignited and was completely destroyed by fire. There were two fatalities recorded during the accident: the pilot and an aircraft mechanic serving as the sole passenger.
Findings
Investigations into the accident revealed that the crew members were operating under the influence of alcohol. Official testing confirmed high levels of intoxication among the personnel involved, specifically noting blood alcohol concentrations of 1.6 ‰ for the captain, 1.97 ‰ for the co-pilot, and 2.9 ‰ for the mechanic. The extreme level of crew intoxication was identified as a primary factor in the loss of control during the low-altitude maneuver.
