Incident Overview
An aircraft operating an uneventful flight from Hargeisa initiated a descent to Galkayo-Abdullahi Yusuf Airport, targeting runway 05L. During the final approach, at a height of approximately 5-7 feet, the captain observed an animal crossing the runway from left to right. In an effort to avoid a collision, the captain attempted to extend the flare.
