What happened
During a nighttime mission, a humanitarian flight operated on behalf of the United Nations Organization was traveling from Ćoralići to Pula. While the aircraft was in the cruise phase of its flight, it was struck by gunfire. The impact caused the aircraft to crash into a forested region situated near Saborsko, Croatia.
Following the impact, the aircraft was completely destroyed. The accident resulted in seven fatalities, with no survivors reported among the occupants.
Findings
Investigations into the incident determined that the aircraft was shot down by fire while navigating through the night sky.
