What happened

Following the completion of crop-spraying tasks for the "Gigant" collective farm, an aircraft was conducting a positioning flight from Cahul toward Vulcӑneşti. During this transit, the crew executed an unapproved maneuver that caused the plane to lose airspeed. The aircraft subsequently entered a steep dive and struck the ground in an open field situated approximately 2 km northwest of Găvănoasa, between the villages of Vladimirovca and Găvănoasa. The impact resulted in a post-crash fire that destroyed the wreckage.

All four people on board, consisting of two pilots and two mechanics, were killed in the accident.
