What happened
The incident occurred while the crew was conducting a beam approach training flight. During this phase of operation, the aircraft experienced a mechanical malfunction that led to a total loss of power. Unable to maintain controlled flight following the engine failure, the airplane descended and impacted the ground in the area of Glemsford. The crash resulted in serious consequences for the three individuals on board. The pilot was killed in the accident, while the two other crew members sustained injuries.
Findings
The official investigation identified the mechanical issue as the primary factor leading to the loss of control. The aircraft's inability to maintain thrust during a critical phase of flight directly caused the crash sequence.
