What happened
During a routine training operation, the flight crew encountered deteriorating weather conditions characterized by active snowfall. As the precipitation intensified, both engines on the aircraft ceased functioning simultaneously. Facing a total loss of power, the crew initiated an emergency landing procedure to bring the machine down safely.
The descent was not uneventful; while attempting to land in open terrain, the airplane collided with a telephone pole and a hedge. Following these impacts, the aircraft came to rest in a nearby field. Despite the collision and the subsequent damage, all five members of the crew managed to evacuate the wreckage without sustaining injuries. The structural damage sustained by the airframe was extensive, resulting in the total loss of the vehicle.
Findings
The official investigation identified the primary factor behind the incident as the simultaneous failure of both engines while the aircraft was operating in snowfall conditions.
