What happened
The incident involved a solo training flight conducted on behalf of the RAF Radio School, departing from RAF Carew Cheriton. During the operation, the pilot descended through cloud cover with the intent to obtain a navigational fix from the ground. While executing this maneuver, the pilot lost control of the aircraft. The airplane subsequently crashed approximately seven kilometers northwest of Haverfordwest.
The impact resulted in the total destruction of the airframe. The sole occupant, identified as the pilot, was killed in the accident. No other personnel were on board at the time of the crash.
