What happened
During a nighttime operation under adverse meteorological conditions, a twin-engine airplane encountered terrain while cruising. The aircraft impacted a slope on Mt Pencreigiau'r Llan, situated near Pant Glas in Wales. Following the collision with the ground, the airframe was destroyed. All five individuals aboard sustained injuries; there were no fatalities reported in this incident.
Findings
Investigation into the event identified that the crew had deviated from their intended route due to a navigation error. Specifically, personnel on board were following an incorrect track, which led directly to the controlled flight into terrain.
