What happened
During a solo training exercise conducted on behalf of the 108th Squadron, the pilot was flying a twin-engine aircraft. While in flight, this aircraft collided with another Royal Air Force Avro 652 Anson I bearing the registration N5177. The second aircraft was carrying a crew of two individuals.
Following the mid-air impact, both planes lost control and crashed into a prairie area located in Weston-on-the-Green. This site is situated approximately six kilometers southwest of RAF Bicester. The accident resulted in fatal injuries for everyone on board; all three crew members across both aircraft were killed.
