What happened
During the final approach and touchdown phase at Ottawa Airport, a twin-engine aircraft experienced a loss of control. The airframe deviated from the paved surface, veering off the runway. As it left the designated landing area, the undercarriage was lost, and the machine eventually came to rest in the surrounding terrain.
The incident resulted in no fatalities or injuries among those on board. However, the structural damage sustained during the excursion rendered the aircraft beyond economic repair, leading to its total loss. The flight was being conducted on behalf of the Canadian Department of Transport.
