What happened
On the date of the accident, a twin-engine aircraft was performing a scheduled flight operated for the National Institute for Cooperation and Education. The flight was intended to travel from La Carlota-General Francisco de Miranda AFB to the El Libertador AFB in Maracay.
During the climb phase immediately following departure from La Carlota, the aircraft experienced a sudden roll to the right. This maneuver caused the plane to lose altitude rapidly, leading to a crash. Upon impact, the aircraft caught fire.
Findings
There were seven fatalities recorded as a result of the impact and subsequent fire. The investigation noted that the aircraft rolled to the right during the ascent, which led to the loss of altitude and the eventual destruction of the plane.
