What happened
During an approach to Port Kaituma, the pilot initiated a descent into the airfield amidst heavy rainfall. Upon landing on the saturated runway, the twin engine aircraft experienced a loss of directional control. The aircraft skidded and drifted off the prepared surface, subsequently striking a utility pole with its left wing. The impact caused the nose landing gear to detach from the airframe before the vessel finally came to a stop.
