What happened

A training mission originating from Værløse AFB ended in an accident after a seaplane completed several water landings near Gilleleje. During the attempt to perform a second landing on the sea, the aircraft impacted the water surface while positioned in a nose-down attitude. The impact caused the plane to submerge, eventually settling at a depth of approximately 12 meters, roughly 4.6 km from the shore.

The flight was carrying a total of eight people, consisting of five crew members and three passengers. Following the submersion of the aircraft, rescue operations were conducted, resulting in seven survivors being pulled from the water. Tragically, one crew member lost their life in the accident.
