What happened

During a flight approaching the region of Sidi Ifni, an engine failure occurred involving an active fire. In response to the emergency, the pilot initiated a diversion procedure, attempting to land the aircraft at Sidi Ifni Airport.

As the aircraft was on its final approach, it crashed several kilometers away from the airfield. The impact resulted in a significant fire at the wreckage site. Of the total occupants on board, 12 fatalities were recorded, while two passengers were successfully rescued from the scene.

Findings

Investigations into the accident determined that the primary factor leading to the crash was an engine fire during flight.
