Flight Details
The aircraft departed from Palanquero Air Force Base (AFB) en route to Barranquilla, with an intermediate stop planned at Valledupar. The flight was a special mission conducted on behalf of the Colombian Intelligence Forces. Onboard were 11 crew members, including officers and technicians.
Crash Sequence
During cruise flight in poor weather conditions, the crew reported an engine failure to air traffic control. Subsequently, radio communication was lost. The aircraft then entered an uncontrolled descent and crashed into a field near the town of Agustín Codazzi, located approximately 50 kilometers south of Valledupar.
Damage and Casualties
The aircraft was completely destroyed by the impact forces. No fire occurred following the crash. All 11 crew members on board were killed in the accident.
