Accident Overview
A single-engine floatplane operating a charter flight from Manaus-Eduardo Gomes Airport to a fish camp on the Xeriuini River near Caracaraí, Brazil, was substantially damaged after impacting a tree during landing. The aircraft carried two pilots and eight passengers.
Landing and Impact
Due to low water levels in the river, the crew anticipated obstacles and chose to land the aircraft near the river bank. Following touchdown, the left wing struck a tree, causing the aircraft to rotate left. The floatplane subsequently came to rest against trees on the river bank.
Occupant Status and Damage
All ten occupants evacuated the aircraft without injury. The aircraft sustained damage beyond economical repair.
