What happened

Shortly after departing from Port-au-Prince Airport, the pilot of a single-engine aircraft was forced to perform an emergency landing approximately 10 km north of the capital. During the landing sequence, the aircraft overturned and came to rest in an inverted position. The impact resulted in the aircraft being destroyed beyond repair. All 9 occupants on board managed to exit the wreckage, and no fatalities were reported, though all individuals sustained minor injuries.

Findings

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was triggered by a door that had not been properly closed prior to takeoff. Following this incident, which occurred within a 12-day period involving two separate accidents, the Haitian civil aviation authority moved to suspend the operator's Air Operator Certificate (AOC) indefinitely.
