What happened
A cargo flight departing from Seinäjoki proceeded without incident until the final stages of the approach. During the descent, the aircraft encountered nighttime conditions characterized by heavy fog. While on final approach, the twin engine aircraft made contact with overhead power cables.
The impact caused the plane to crash into a nearby wooded area, which subsequently triggered a large fire. The wreckage was completely destroyed by the post-crash flames. The pilot sustained serious injuries during the accident.
