What happened
An air ambulance mission traveling from Valledupar to Bogotá-Guaymaral Airport ended in a fatal accident during the initial climb. The aircraft was transporting a total of six passengers, including a medical professional, a nurse, and two family members (a mother and son), alongside the flight crew.
Immediately following departure from runway 02/20, the aircraft ascended to an altitude of approximately 50 meters. At this low altitude, the plane experienced a stall, causing it to descend into a nearby wooded area. The impact with the trees triggered a significant post-crash fire that consumed the airframe.
Findings
- The accident resulted in one fatality (the doctor) and five injuries.
- The aircraft was completely destroyed by the subsequent fire.
- The primary sequence of events was triggered by an aerodynamic stall during the takeoff phase.
