What happened
On the morning of the accident, a private aircraft departed from Runway 11 at La Carlota-General Francisco de Miranda Airport at 08:09 local time. The flight was operated with a total of three crew members on board. Following the takeoff, the crew performed a standard right-hand turn as part of their established flight procedures and reached an altitude of 4,500 feet.
Approximately two minutes after leaving the ground, the aircraft struck hilly and heavily wooded terrain in the El Volcán area, situated roughly 8 km south of the departure airport. The impact forces and a subsequent fire following the crash resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were three fatalities among the crew members during the event.
Findings
No specific investigation findings regarding the mechanical or operational cause of the crash were provided in the initial report, though the aircraft was lost due to the impact and post-crash fire in the mountainous region.
