What happened
On a flight from Flandes-Santiago Vila Airport to Guaymaral in Bogotá, a twin engine airplane crashed in a wooded area near Bojacá. The flight departed from runway 02 at 12:57 local time with the pilot serving as the sole occupant of the aircraft. During the transit, the aircraft was operating at a cruising altitude of 9,260 feet.
As the flight progressed, the weather conditions deteriorated, leading to a period of poor visibility. While navigating through the area, the aircraft struck trees in the hilly, forested landscape. The force of the impact caused the total destruction of the airframe. The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
