What happened
During a cruise phase in the vicinity of RAF Boscombe Down, a twin-engine aircraft experienced a mid-air collision with an RAF Avro 652 Anson registered as NL248. The circumstances leading to the impact remain unknown. Following the collision, the Dominie lost control and crashed into a prairie. In contrast, the pilot of the Anson retained control of the aircraft and was able to execute a safe landing.
The accident resulted in the deaths of all three crew members aboard the Dominie. The individuals identified as part of the crew were F/O Ashley James Greer, Peter J. Bartlett, and Peter C. Damon.
