What happened

A charter flight operating between Turbo and Medellín, which included a scheduled stop in Juradó, vanished during its journey. Approximately 20 minutes following the departure from Juradó, the single-engine airplane lost contact with ground stations. No distress signals were transmitted by the pilot prior to the disappearance.

Following the failure of the aircraft to reach its destination in Medellín, search and rescue operations were initiated. These efforts continued for several days but were ultimately terminated after no evidence of the plane or its passengers was located. The fate of the six occupants remained unknown for over a decade.

Twelve years after the initial disappearance, investigators located the wreckage. The debris was found in a remote and unpopulated region situated near Serranía del Baudó, approximately 100 km south of the flight path originally taken between Juradó and Medellín.
