What happened
While performing a takeoff roll on runway 15/33 at Dire Dals Dawa-Aba Tenna Dejazmach Yilma Airport, the aircraft encountered wildlife on the runway. Following a collision with wild animals, the pilot aborted the takeoff attempt and applied emergency braking. During this maneuver, the aircraft drifted off the prepared surface and eventually came to a stop.
There were 80 people on board during the incident. All occupants successfully evacuated the aircraft without any reported injuries or fatalities. However, the impact and subsequent excursion resulted in the aircraft being a total loss due to extensive damage.
