What happened
A flight traveling from El Gouert to Tenerife-Norte-Los Rodeos ended in a fatal accident while the aircraft was on approach to its destination. The plane was transporting 16 passengers along with a crew of five at the time of the incident. As the flight approached the airport from a southern direction, the crew encountered low visibility and adverse weather conditions. During this phase of the flight, the aircraft struck a mountain situated in the La Esperanza region, south of the airfield.
Findings
The impact resulted in a significant loss of life and numerous injuries. The accident caused four fatalities among the crew members, while 17 other occupants sustained various injuries. The primary factor contributing to the crash was the presence of poor weather and reduced visibility during the approach.
