What happened
Following departure from runway 30 at Bogotá-El Dorado, a four-engine airplane experienced significant issues maintaining altitude during its initial climb. The aircraft made contact with an eucalyptus tree before entering a stall. The subsequent crash occurred in a pasture situated approximately one kilometer away from the airport perimeter.
Findings
Investigations into the accident suggest that the loss of altitude was precipitated by a mechanical failure. Specifically, it is believed that one of the four engines exploded while the aircraft was attempting to climb after takeoff.
